Vasyli Medical Custom Full Length Orthotic — Blue
Heat-mouldable full-length biomechanical orthotic for pronation realignment, shock absorption, and maximum kinetic chain control — ideal for athletic, casual, and everyday footwear.
Full plantar support for footwear that can accommodate a complete insert
The Vasyli Medical Custom Full Length Orthotic is a heat-mouldable prefabricated foot orthotic manufactured by Vasyli Medical, an orthotics company with over 35 years of history developing biomechanical corrective insoles in collaboration with leading podiatrists, orthotists, and biomechanics experts.
The packaging states the orthotic is CE marked and accepted by the American Podiatric Medical Association. It is designed for pronation control, shock absorption, and maximum biomechanical realignment of the lower kinetic chain.
The full-length version covers the entire plantar surface of the foot from heel to toe. This makes it the most comprehensive option in the Vasyli range for footwear that can accommodate a full-length insert — athletic shoes, trainers, boots, walking shoes, and casual shoes with a removable factory insole.
Like the 3/4 length version, this orthotic is heat-mouldable by a clinician for improved semi-custom fit to the individual foot contour.
Three density options available
The Blue Mid Density version is the general-purpose starting option for most patients.
| Colour | Density | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Green | Low / Soft | Elderly, diabetic, arthritic patients; sensitive feet |
| Blue (stocked) | Medium | Average weight and activity; general orthotic needs; most adults |
| Red | High / Firm | Athletes, high-activity users, bariatric patients; maximum control |
Approximate shoe size guide
Sizing is by shoe size. The full-length insert replaces the existing factory insole.
| Size | Men's Shoe Size (AU/US) | Women's Shoe Size (AU/US) |
|---|---|---|
| XS | 3.5 – 5 | 4.5 – 6 |
| S | 5.5 – 7 | 6.5 – 8 |
| M | 7.5 – 9 | 8.5 – 10 |
| L | 9.5 – 11 | 10.5 – 12 |
| XL | 11.5 – 13 | — |
Full length vs 3/4 length
We stock both the full-length and 3/4 length versions of the Vasyli Custom orthotic.
Full Length
Covers heel to toe, replacing the factory insole completely. Better for athletic shoes, trainers, work boots, and walking shoes with adequate depth and a removable factory insole. Provides the most complete biomechanical control including forefoot cushioning across the full length of the foot.
3/4 Length
Covers heel, arch, and metatarsal head region, stopping before the toes. Better for dress shoes, fashion footwear, shallow shoes, and any footwear where a full-length insert does not fit well or creates toe box discomfort. Easier to transfer between shoes.
Many patients benefit from both
The full-length version may suit training and everyday shoes, while the 3/4 length may suit dress or fashion footwear. Your chiropractor can advise on the right combination for your footwear rotation.
Biomechanical control from heel strike through toe-off
Controls subtalar pronation
Controls inward heel rolling through the medial rearfoot architecture, addressing the most common lower limb biomechanical deviation.
Supports the full plantar surface
Provides support from heel strike through toe-off, helping support the medial longitudinal arch and manage load distribution throughout the gait cycle.
Absorbs heel strike impact
The packaging lists this orthotic as designed for pronation and realignment, shock absorption, and maximum control.
Cushions forefoot and toes
The full-length design provides cushioning under the forefoot and toes in addition to the heel and arch.
Can be heat-moulded
A clinician can heat-mould the orthotic to conform to the individual arch contour for improved biomechanical control.
Supports 1st ray mechanics
Includes 1st ray plantar flexor technology to facilitate hallux dorsiflexion during propulsion.
Common indications listed for this orthotic
The clinical indications are identical to those for the 3/4 length version, but the full-length version is more appropriate for the footwear types listed above. The packaging lists four specific indications.
-
Heel pain: Arch support reduces tensile load on the plantar fascia. Rearfoot control manages the excessive pronation that increases this load. Heel cushioning helps reduce impact discomfort at heel strike.
-
Knee pain: Rearfoot control reduces internal tibial rotation and the associated medial compartment and patellofemoral loading that can contribute to knee pain in active patients.
-
Ankle pain: Control of excessive pronation reduces the strain on the lateral ankle ligaments and peroneal tendons that can result from repeated uncontrolled subtalar movement.
-
Back pain: The kinetic chain connection between foot pronation and lumbar mechanics is directly relevant to chiropractic patients. Controlling the foot foundation can reduce compensatory rotational stresses transmitted to the pelvis and lumbar spine.
-
General lower limb overuse: The same principles extend to Achilles tendinopathy, shin splints, ITB syndrome, and hip pain where foot biomechanics are a contributing factor.
Replace the factory insole and increase wear gradually
-
Remove the existing factory insole from the shoe. If the shoe does not have a removable insole, a 3/4 length orthotic may be more appropriate.
-
Insert the Vasyli Full Length orthotic with the heel fully seated in the heel of the shoe and the toe end trimmed if needed.
-
The top surface should be smooth against the sole of the foot. Check that there are no folds or pressure points before wearing.
-
For heat moulding, bring the orthotics to your chiropractor appointment. Your chiropractor can heat-mould the shell to your specific arch contour in the clinic.
-
Begin with 2 to 4 hours of wear on the first day and increase gradually over 1 to 2 weeks to allow the foot and lower limb to adapt to the new biomechanical alignment.
-
Use in all footwear worn for extended periods. The full-length design is appropriate for athletic shoes, trainers, work boots, casual shoes, and walking shoes.
-
Replace when the shell shows significant compression or flattening of the arch contour — typically 12 to 18 months with daily use.
Important — please read before use
- An adaptation period is essential. Do not begin wearing all day on the first day.
- Gradually increase wear time over 1 to 2 weeks to allow your musculoskeletal system to adapt to changed foot alignment.
- If you experience increased pain, new knee or hip discomfort, or lower leg symptoms after starting use, stop and consult your chiropractor.
- Heat moulding should be performed by a trained clinician. Do not attempt to soften the shell at home.
- This is a prefabricated orthotic. Complex presentations may require custom orthotic referral to a podiatrist.
- This orthotic addresses biomechanical contributing factors. It is not a standalone treatment and should be used as part of a broader management plan guided by your chiropractor.
