Oppo Shoulder Support — Model 1072
Breathable neoprene shoulder support with adjustable chest strap for shoulder pain, rotator cuff conditions, and upper arm support.
Support, warmth, and proprioceptive feedback for the shoulder
The Oppo Shoulder Support (Model 1072) is a breathable neoprene shoulder support brace manufactured by Oppo Medical.
It is constructed from a neoprene rubber layer sandwiched between durable cotton and nylon laminates — a design that retains therapeutic body heat at the joint while remaining more breathable than single-layer neoprene.
The support covers the shoulder cap and upper arm with an integrated sleeve, and secures with an adjustable chest strap that crosses the body and fastens under the opposite arm.
It fits left or right shoulder and is available in four sizes from S to XL. Sizing is based on chest circumference measurement.

Compression and therapeutic warmth without rigid immobilisation
Compressive support
Supports the glenohumeral joint and reduces strain on irritated capsular, ligamentous, and musculotendinous structures.
Therapeutic warmth
Neoprene construction retains body heat, helping ease stiffness and improve local tissue extensibility.
Proprioceptive feedback
Continuous tactile pressure activates mechanoreceptors and supports more controlled movement patterns.
Adjustable strap
The chest strap stabilises the support across the body and helps keep it positioned during movement.
Functional movement
Provides warmth and support while allowing normal functional range of motion.
Conditions and evidence context
- Rotator cuff tendinopathy and impingement: Mild to moderate compression reduces mechanical loading on the supraspinatus and other rotator cuff tendons during daily activity and light exercise.
- Shoulder bursitis: Gentle compression may help reduce swelling perception and provide proprioceptive input to support more conscious movement patterns.
- Minor shoulder sprains and ligamentous strains: In the subacute phase, compression may help manage swelling and support joint protection during activity.
- Shoulder instability (mild): Compressive support may assist movement confidence and motor control during the return-to-activity phase.
- Upper arm muscle strain and shoulder fatigue: Sleeve coverage extends from the shoulder cap onto the upper arm, supporting the deltoid and proximal biceps region.
- Evidence context: There is moderate evidence that compressive shoulder supports improve proprioceptive feedback and reduce pain perception during activity. High-quality RCT evidence for neoprene shoulder supports as a standalone treatment is limited.
Apply to either shoulder and adjust the cross-body strap
- Insert your hand into the sleeve section of the support and pull it up the arm until it sits over the affected shoulder.
- Bring the chest strap over your head and around the armpit of the opposite arm. The strap crosses the front of the chest and secures under the opposite side.
- Adjust the strap tension so the support sits snugly on the shoulder without restricting blood flow or causing discomfort under the armpit.
- The support should feel firm and supportive without pinching, numbness, or tingling in the arm.
- Wear during activities that aggravate the shoulder. Remove during periods of complete rest.
- Do not wear during sleep unless specifically directed by your practitioner.
- Washing: wash in cold water with mild soap. Hang dry away from heat and sunlight. Do not bleach, iron, or dry clean.
Important — please read before use
- Do not use if you have a known allergy to neoprene or rubber.
- Do not apply over broken skin, open wounds, or areas of active skin conditions.
- If you experience numbness, tingling, or discolouration of the arm or hand while wearing the support, remove it immediately — the chest strap may be too tight.
- This support is not appropriate for acute moderate-to-severe shoulder injuries, suspected fractures, complete rotator cuff tears, or dislocations without prior medical assessment and clearance.
- Do not use as a substitute for medical or chiropractic assessment. Shoulder pain can arise from referred pain from the cervical spine.
- If shoulder pain is severe, worsening, accompanied by arm weakness, or not improving with conservative management, seek chiropractic or medical assessment.
