muscle skeletalWhat is a trigger point? To put simply, it is also known as knots that are found in your muscles. They are hypersensitive, tight, small and bump-like areas of the muscles. These muscle knots may appear anywhere in our muscle. Trigger point can be categorized into two group: active and latent. Active trigger points, they are painful even when you are not pressing on them; Latent trigger point on the other hand only feels painful when you press on them. Most common places for knots to develop are neck, shoulder, lower back, shin and calves. In some serious cases, they might cause other symptoms such as jaw pain, ringing in the ear and tension headache.

  • Injuries to soft tissue
